JASON ROSS, edD, FOH FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

As the founder, Jason has dedicated himself to serving South Carolina through emergency management, disaster relief, business education and veteran mentorship. He last served as the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Brigade, South Carolina State Guard, leading numerous disaster recovery deployments. In 2021, Jason started Friends of the Highlanders to bridge gaps in emergency management by fostering public-private partnerships and equipping disaster response task forces.

Jason is also the Director of Corporate Development and an Adjunct Professor at North Greenville University's College of Business and Entrepreneurship. He holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Higher Education from North Greenville University. His dissertation focused on veteran care, specifically on helping student veterans transition from combat to college.

An active community leader, Jason has been involved with the Greenville City Center Rotary Club, Greer Centennial Lions Club, and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board. He has received numerous awards and decorations for his service, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Humanitarian Service ribbon with four oak leaf clusters.

Jason's extensive military education includes courses such as the Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and the National Search and Rescue Course. He also holds various expert badges and the Royal Laotian Parachutist Badge. Jason is committed to making a positive impact through his leadership and service in both military and civilian capacities.
