Being a Highlander signifies embodying the spirit of bravery, resourcefulness, and camaraderie in facing challenges head-on. These traits continue to inspire our organization's mission of serving and supporting communities in need.
The Highlanders make up our organization's volunteers that serve our agency partners when in need. We are always looking to broaden our team's scope in supporting the communities during times of need. We have among ourselves, veterans, retired veterans, first-responders, volunteer firefighters and other personnel who have experience in disaster relief or emergency aid support. Please fill out the form below to become a Highlander.
The Highlanders, once vetted, will be part of Highlands Disaster Recovery Task Force (TF-7), a volunteer group registered with South Carolina Fire Academy.
WHY HIGHLANDERS?
Our organization's name is in homage to the historic legacy of the Carolinas during the Revolutionary War. General Andrew Pickens, a key figure in this era, referred to his soldiers as Highlanders, recognizing their resilience and adaptability in navigating the rugged terrain and employing innovative tactics that contributed to victory.
